Crucifix of St. Damian is an Italian jacquard wall tapestry woven with gold lurex thread. Originally painted in the 12th century in Umbria, Italy by an unknown artist. The crucifix was moved from San Damiano to the Basilica of Santa Chiara in 1257. There this iconic crucifix is guarded safely to this day.
