Melchior French Tapestry
MelchiorI is a jacquard wall hanging tapestry that comes from an extract of the Chapelle des Mages, the artwork of Italian Renaissance painter Benozzo Gozzoli (c. 1421 – 1497) at Palazzo Medici-Riccardi in Florence, Italy. The scene depicts John VII Palaiologos (or Palaeologus) who was the Byzantine Emperor from 1425 – 1447 in Constantinople.
