These scenes were set in the forest of Soignes, and each were inspired by a partcular month of the year. The commissioner of the work was unknown, however these works show the strong influence of Italian art on the European art scene. Here we see a gorgeous forest scene filled with luscious foliage, and nobility on horseback in their crimson, orange and blue attire, with their hounds among the plants in the foreground.
