The artwork comes from a part of a medieval set of 7 tapestries on the subject of courtly life (Bath, Concert, Reading, Departure of the hunters, Walking, Embroidering and Courtly Speech). The fine detail given to the attire of the ladies and the mille fleurs background are typical of true medieval design.
